Japan has worked for years to create a pair of glasses that will shield the wearer from discovery on facial recognition software. The first iteration of the “privacy visor” used near-infrared lights, which are visible to cameras but not humans. The new rendition of the facial un-recognition glasses does not use infrared lights, but reflects overhead lights into the camera lens.
