Presented: June 21, 2018 2:00 pm
Presented by: R. Cory Bernards, Ph.D.

This webinar discusses recent developments in computational power, communication capabilities, and microfluidics that together have advanced the state of biological agent threat detection and identification technology. R. Cory Bernhards, Ph.D., Research Microbiologist for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and Edgewood Chemical Biological Center, explores emerging diagnostic devices, chemical analyzers, and biosensors used for warfighter-protection applications, including bedside medical diagnostics and sampling tools for first responders. Bernhards also investigates the state of field-deployable identification methodologies. Advancing the Department of Defense’s ability to quickly and accurately identify harmful biological agents will greatly contribute to military force protection.
